“I think one of the reasons why God allowed the bitterness of life to touch us is for us not to become insensitive to someone else’s pain. To step into their shoes and to show them the way out of the dark alley.”

Satan knows he can’t steal your soul, which is already won by God. So his primary tactic is to occupy your mind with other things to render you ineffective for the advancement of the Kingdom.

I found a library that looks like it could be Oxford’s sister hidden right in my town. I practically started crying walking in. So much beauty and books.

  1. Thanks for responding. I just wanted to ask since I noticed you changed your description. It's just something that I noticed among the blogs I follow that some start out as Christians and then may fall out their faith for personal reasons. It's something that has happened to myself, but I came back to it because of spiritual experiences. I don't think it's an easy thing being a Christian. If a person mimics the life of Jesus, he/she/they also take up his cross.

    onceuponawildflower:

the people who say they subscribe to and practice christianity is the sore spot for me. i became alienated by most people i knew once i started to give a shit about the world around me, esp. based in socioeconomic, racial, and environmental issues. once you stand up for that, it sort of feels like i’ve been shunned at mass by most people, largely ignored if i can’t be converted into the ‘just pray about it’ mentality. i’ve also gone to political rallies where i’ve been screamed at and called awful things by people opposing my point of view, only relenting when they found out that i was also christian. what if i wasn’t?

i know i should have more grace for christians, but i also hold them to a higher standard than just anyone else, at least where ethics lie. it’s a radical concept: practice what you preach, don’t use christianity as a get out of hell free card, acting superior to everyone else, claiming you’re ‘the chosen ones’ and treating people and the earth like crap because you’re pretty sure the end is coming within your lifetime so might as well exploit the hell out of it for your own means. like there are a ton of people who think this is okay. there are also a ton of christians who think that white people are the superior race. that LGBTQ+ should burn in hell because they don’t have heteronormative relationships. it’s ridiculous. and somehow, they paraphrase something out of the bible to make it sound like god agrees with them. i’ve talked to a lot of these people. they scare me and repel me from any form of christianity that they believe in. which i’m finding is really, really common, these beliefs in church. i just want nothing to do with them. i pray that i can find grace for those people, but they’re incredulously disdainful and don’t show the love or grace of god whatsoever through the actions i’ve witness or had shown to me.

i just can’t subscribe to any of that. if that means that i lose my connection to christianity, or what it’s become, that means i lose christianity. do i still live by the fruits of the spirit? yes. do i still love jesus and the holy trinity/cosmic christ? yes. i just refuse to adhere to the deplorable actions of a lot of christians these days.
